OCTOBER 2007 **'TIS ALMOST THE SEASON We are extremely pleased to announce some new features for this years' Gift Of Music. We will once again be awarding a $100.00 top prize to the best cover as voted by the participants, but we will also furnish the second place winner with a bunch of worthless STR crap. Starting this year we will also host all the songs on our servers to eliminate broken links. Check out the GOM thread over at songfight for the "behind the scenes" buzz. If you would like to advertise or furnish a prize for this years GOM, or if you are a band/musician and would like to participate in this years GOM, send us a message 'cause the time is now. His song "Brown Boxes" is still in the top 25 of 2000 songs on the Independent Rock Chart at ClearChannelMusic.com. Keep clickin' for him and maybe ou'll help him sell some CDs, because we still suck and still have no $ in the budget to promote him, as he will still surely tell you when if you make friends with him on Myspace. **BOAT BOY ON THE MOVE Anatomy of Your Homicide bassist Jason DeVries has once again set sail from Japan. We just sent him a care package filled with ring-dings, yodels and apple pies, 'cause we're good like that. He is currently at sea on the USS Kittyhawk. As always we say God Bless you brother and thanks for your service! SEPTEMBER 2007 **CRUNCH TIME- We are now aggressively seeking quality bands of all genres to work with. AUGUST 2007 **MISSING MONTH- In case you noticed, we skipped July. That month is over-rated anyway. **GET BANGED- Eddiebangs has been pimping his CD 7 DAY SONGS on Myspace as well as several other music sites across the web. Sales saw a boost during July when he reached #2 on the Independent Rock Chart at ClearChannelMusic.com. Keep spreading the word about Eddie and his great new CD, because we suck and have no $ in the budget to promote him, as he will surely tell you when if you make friends with him on Myspace. **OUR HERO- Yet another report from Anatomy of Your Homicide bassist Jason DeVries. This time he was leaving Australia and heading back to Guam. "I've got a big bag of Burger King and a bunch of girls' phone numbers" he said just before the ship left. He is currently at sea on the USS Kittyhawk. As always we say God Bless you brother and thanks for your service! **THE HUNT CONTINUES- we are still actively seeking quality bands of all genres to work with. If you think you've got something special and would like to be considered to join the Soul Tree Records family, drop us a line via the contact page and give us the skinny. JUNE 2007 **NOT A MINUTE TOO SOON- Eddiebangs has been ready to burst. After several setbacks and a release date that was repeatedly pushed back due to circumstances beyond our control (do you believe us, 'cause he sure didn't...) his long awaited CD 7 DAY SONGS is now on sale. Be sure to make friends with Eddie on Myspace. **SWEET TOOTH SAILORS- Another report from Anatomy of Your Homicide bassist Jason DeVries. When we heard from him he had just left Guam where he "went to the beach, got all drunk, and saw some dolphins, it was cool'. He is currently at sea on the USS Kittyhawk. He also said that he is in much need of cookies and tastee-cakes, which are in short supply and are more valuable than money aboard the ship. God Bless you brother and thanks for your service! **STUFFED FULL OF SINGLES- The STR Pay-Per-Track Store is now open for business AND fully stocked. Keep an eye out for more new material as we gear-up to rapidly expand the STR catalouge. MAY 2007 **SWEET RELEASE- Eddiebangs 7 Day Songs is set to drop Wednesday, May 30. Watch for special promotions surrounding this long awaited release, which is a collection of Eddie's favorite Songfight entries remastered as well as one brand new previously unreleased track. **THE CHECK IS IN THE MAIL- Congratulations to Calfborg for winning the $100 prize in the 2006/2007 Gift Of Music with his cover of Man Overboard by Do Re Mi. Honorable mention goes to Jack Shite for collaborating on the track. **NEWS FROM JAPAN- Bassist Jason DeVries (Anatomy of Your Homicide) has checked in from Japan and reports "there are a lot of Japanese people here- like over 100!" He also is fairly certain that at six feet five inches, he is currently the tallest man in the whole country. Also, he says the menu at the McDonalds over there is FUBAR. Keep an eye out for further updates from our favorite member of the US NAVY. **SINGLE SERVINGS- The STR Pay-Per-Track Store is now open for business. At the moment we have a few Ebangs tracks stocked there, but we fully intend to rapidly include most of the STR catalouge. APRIL 2007 **OUR NEW LOOK-Why should we write about it? Just poke around a little and check it out for yourself! **FINALLY-After literally years of teasing us, the Eddiebangs 7 Day Songs CD will finally be released next month. The exact date it drops has not been announced yet, but it will be sometime in May 2007 for sure! **FOR LOVE OF COUNTRY-Anatomy of Your Homicide bassist Jason DeVries has shipped out to Japan! Jason joined the US NAVY in September of this year, and we all wish him the best and thank him for his service! |
